Are the prices on the website already discounted?
No. We still have to deduct what ever special we are running at that moment.
Important: Discounts for compact cars and midsize cars are now only applicable on weekly rentals.
Are you still located at the airport?

We have been at the airport for 6 years and we moved on November 30th, 2007. We moved to our new office located 2 minutes away from the airport, behind the Sabana Blanco Gas Station. Of the 26 car rentals formerly located at the airport only 10 remain. The other car rentals, including us, decided to move away from the airport mainly because of the fees and taxes the Airport Authority has imposed on the car rentals.

When we arrive at the airport what should we do?

After exiting the arrival hall only cross the first zebra crossing and there you will see a large Yellow Shuttle Bus Sign, where our shuttle representative C-JAM Transfers will be waiting for you. In case our representative has not met you within 10 minutes, then please give us a call on the toll free number below ‪+1-866-978-0965‬ or ‪+297-587-7900‬.

If any flight is delayed how will we reach you?

We will be waiting at the airport for any delayed flights until 9:30 pm. After that time you can take a cab to your hotel and give us a call the next day and we will deliver the car to your hotel.

Do you offer rentals at the cruise terminal?

Car Rental Offices at the Cruise Terminals are not permitted; however, we do offer Cruise Terminal pick-up and drop-off. A representative, wearing a royal blue shirt, will meet you at the security gate with your name on a sign. You can always give us a call on our toll-free number +1-866-978-0965 to let us know your ship has docked.

What are the fees for pickup/drop-off at the Cruise Terminal?

For Cruise Terminal pick-up and returns additional fees apply

  • Between  9:00 am – 17:00 pm (there are no additional charges) – Office hours
  • Between 17:00 pm – 19:00 pm ($25,-)
  • Between 19:00 pm – 21:00 pm ($35,-)
  • Between 21:00 pm – 23:00 pm latest ($45,-) for after office hours service.
What are the deposit amounts?

The required deposit amounts are:
Cars: $300-$500
Vans, SUV’s & Wranglers $500-$750

What is included in the rental?

Included in the rental price is free third party insurance (liability insurance) and free (unlimited) mileage.

What is the procedure for renting a vehicle?

To rent a vehicle you need a major credit card and be at least 23 years of age. The credit card is initially used as a deposit for the vehicle. At the end of the rental period you decide if you would like to pay cash or leave the charges on the credit card. We do take an authorization on the credit card of between US$ 500,- and US$ 1000,- depending on the type of vehicle you are renting and the length of the rental period.

What is the procedure to return a vehicle?

You can return the vehicle to our airport office and we will shuttle you back. Also, returns are possible at hotels, airbnbs or other locations in or nearby the high rise hotel area. For cruise returns we will meet you at Cruise Terminal Parking Lott behind Diamond’s International.

What other services does Royal Car Rental provide?

Royal does not charge you for the 1st additional hour. There are no additional charges for 1 extra driver. We offer free delivery and pick up from the hotels. Baby seats and booster seats are available for US$ 5 a day or US$ 35,- a week.

What does "or similar" on the deals/our fleet page mean?

In rare cases the requested rental vehicle is not available anymore. Examples may be but are not limited to the following: due to rental extension by the prior customer, vehicle accident during prior rental, urgent last minute maintenance. As a solution we arrange another vehicle that is similar or better than initially agreed upon. Important to know is that the similar vehicle will not be a downgrade.

What other transfer options do we have to reach your office?

You can meet our representative inside the arrival hall and they will bring you to our office to pick up the vehicle. Take note that if you are with a lot of people and/or luggage, we can only transport the driver to our office. Within 10 minutes he/she should be back at the airport to pick up the rest of the people.

Will there be any additional charges added to the rate?

We will add a US$ 1,- daily license plate fee and 7% government sales tax at the end of the bill.

Why should we fill in the reservation form as accurate as possible?

This is to speed up the rental process. The information from the reservation form is used to fill in the rental contract ahead of time. The more accurate the reservation form is filled, the faster the rental process will go.
